As in any polysemiotic text, both the text itself and the image are integral parts of the narrative and this poses special challenges for the translator. The purpose of this study is to analyze, basing on the example of this novel, the main translation difficulties encountered when working on a multisemiotic text: the graphic organization of the text, the transmission of onomatopoeic vocabulary, maintaining the integrity of verbal and non-verbal narrative components, the pragmatic adaptation of ethnocultural imagery, etc. In order to achieve this goal, we provided information on the author and the work, gave the historical context of the events narrated in the novel, listed the main features of the multisemiotic text and analyzed the difficulties of transferring them when translating from Korean into Russian.
