The author tries to collect and analyse biographic information on Soviet/Russian scholars who were trained as Myanmar specialists with command of the Burmese language, to trace their academic careers. Those Myanmar specialists who chose practical work (e.g. diplomats, interpreters, etc.) were not included in this list.
