Ближний Восток и его соседи

g 162 h David Nicolle Multiple items 1. Archery equipment from the grave of a high-status warrior just beyond the fron- tiers of the 8th-9th century Islamic world. It was found in a necropolis at Moschevaya Balka, in the Russian north Caucasus, amongst other items including clothing and tex- tiles which themselves showed close trading and cultural contacts with neighbouring Islamic regions. Given the limited pictorial and more generous written evidence from 8th-9th century Islamic Iran and the Middle East, it is reasonable to assume that ar- chery equipment of essentially the same type as that found at Moschevaya Balka was used within the Islamic heartlands.
