g 165 h Archaeological Evidence for Mamlūk Archery 7–9. The fact that some of the composite hand bows in the “Euphrates Hoard” are damaged makes it possible to see some of their internal structure. This includes a wooden core which is otherwise hidden between many layers of sinew (see also photo 15).
