The study of house decorations could become a joint activity. Just before the resettlement of the Kunuzi Nubians in 1964, the mural paintings on their houses in Egyptian Nubia reached an artistic peak. After the resettlement this phenomenon almost disappeared. What were the psychological and social reasons for this dramatic rise and fall? A sample photograph of an old Kunuzi house in northern Egyptian Nubia is shown below.
