The 6 th International Symposium on Oriental Ancient Documents Studies 32 Viktor Guzev Semantics of “possession” and “being, state” in the Turkic Verbal Perfect Forms Article aims to show that the verbs “to have” and “to be” (correspond‑ ingly meanings “possession, belonging” and “being, existence, state”), take part not only in the origin, development and functioning of the verbal perfect forms of Indo-European languages. They play the same role in the formation of tenses in the Turkic languages. Key words: verbal perfect forms, being, state, possession, correlation with period of orientation.
